Frenzy Plant
Orientation
Overall, Frenzy Plant best fits the description of Lawful Neutral. The guild doesn't go out of its way to perform acts of heroism, but it has standards of workmanship that keep it far beyond Dark Guild territory. It takes jobs that provide benefits, whether material or social, to Frenzy Plant and its members. Frenzy Plant is sometimes known as a mercenary guild, despite its standards. Though it has not yet happened, should a catastrophic event unite the forces of light against evil, Frenzy Plant will show up to add their strength.
The members of Frenzy Plant are a a close-knit bunch, with largely comradely bonds rather than familial bonds, earned through shared experiences and victories. That does not mean, however, that more friendly bonds haven't developed, in one way or another. As a whole, the guild itself is very combat-oriented , built like a miniature army rather than a typical employer. Fighting skill is of paramount importance, and new members are only admitted after certain trials. Tactician Sanders prides himself on the fact that however quirky his soldiers, each and every one is a capable fighter when it comes down to it.
To enter, a candidate whose character has been approved must defeat or tie one of the C-rank wizards. By defeating (but not tying) one of a higher rank, that rank can be gained. The challenged individual gets to pick where and how the challenge is conducted, and it isn't always strictly combat, though combat is almost always involved one way or another. Frenzy Plant's lifestyle is conducive to neither children nor in-guild families. In fact, to enter, a candidate must be over twelve years of age.
History
Frenzy Plant is a fairly old guild as the guilds of this age go. It began as a tiny group of magic practitioners, selling their talents in secrecy, but as time passed and the group began to attract more attention, greater discretion was used overall. As more people tagged along and more jobs completed, it fostered less secrecy and more responsibility. With the death of the old squad's leader eleven years ago, the new organization Frenzy Plant turned wholeheartedly to the cause of becoming a legitimate guild. Its headquarters in Oak Town became the fully-fledged Frenzy Fort, and since then Frenzy Plant has been a powerful and reliable magical force in Fiore.
Guild Motto:
“We never stop growing stronger.”
Members: 29
Guild Master / Tactician / General:
Cormorant Sanders – one of the original founders of Frenzy Plant, and oddly enough a pacifist. He adopts a very hands-on approach to teaching, if not fighting, for he personally trains many of the less experienced members of the guild, and even the high-ranking ones continue to learn from his life experience. Sanders doesn't flaunt his magic, but if forced, will reveal that he is the user of Percentage Magic, able to alter the probability of events happening, and at high degrees of focus slightly alter reality to suit his desired probabilities. The one with the funniest handshake.
S-rank Wizards / Generals
Indigo Afina – fair-haired sorceress, wielder of The Librarian and shipper extraordinaire. The one who spies on couples.
Zander Louvier – famous Ruby Knight, caster of Scarlet Aurora and overly cautious. The most likely to let his horse in the kitchen.
Ludo the Hermit – one of the 26 Mystic Beasts, wielder of Spear of Infinity and caster of The Hermit. The least human.
A-rank Wizards / Corporals
Xyster – headless Dullahan, caster of Reaper Magic and member of Team Cut Capers. The first one to volunteer for shopping duty.
Demetri Argentum – fire-fisted brawler, caster of Hekatonkheires and member of Team Cut Capers. The only one to turn white when someone badmouths his cooking.
Owen Whately – badlands fencer, wielder of Rapier Cast and member of Team Cut Capers. The one with the strongest Southern accent.
Jane Putcher – one-eyed gunslinger, caster of Cartridge Magic, “former” pirate, and lover of money. The one with the most hidden soft side.
Hyun Sasithorn – lady of war, caster of Nullification Magic, and an exile from her homeland. The one who always addresses others by their rank.
B-rank Wizards / Lieutenants
Bytan Brass – lamenting elder, wielder of Grand Almanac and typically morose man. In his prime, he was one of the few great heroes in a magic-devoid world, but it won't make his ex-wife love him again. The one with the most extensive monologues.
Joakim Fortinbras – blue-haired northerner, caster of Arctic Magic and always too warm. A morbid streak runs through his family, and his habit of collecting animal bones may throw some off his genial nature. A sometimes-surreal sense of humor compliments his zany fighting style. The best storyteller.
Ni Rensa – vaguely feline axeling, wielder of Stone Hatchet Arts and member of Team Axe Guys. A member of a species bred in the past for war, she has a fighter's instincts, but is determined to leave her race's past behind her and fit in among humans. The biggest tsundere, particularly to Kilo.
Kilo – huge warrior, wielder of Steel Hatchet Arts, crazy about food, and member of Team Axe Guys. A former farm boy stuffed with notions of heroism, Kilo remains optimistic even after losing his naivety to his career as a deputy in the seedy underbelly of Crocus. The most eager arm-wrestler.
Ange Bolganone – self-conscious heiress, caster of Glass Magic, and a true cuisine connoisseur. Though a fierce fighter, she's prone to fits of crying now and again, but will never say why. Her well-to-do parents, managers of a big postal business, haven't been seen much lately. Most likely to be caught sneaking food.
Arivaderci Salvay – transformed into a naga by a curse, caster of Palm Magic, and extremely quiet. The vulgarity and hatefulness of some of the world weighs heavily on her due to her extremely moral upbringing, but she's determined to keep the ideas of justice and truth intact. The cutest when annoyed.
Morimoto Tsubano – ambiguous witch, caster of Marsh Songs, an ironically sadistic healer. Lives in a shack on a hill near Oak Town and oversees the growth of the town's tea crop. It is occasionally said that Tsubano performs dark rites among the fields of tea. The one that guild members fear the most.
Eliza – egotistic former Dark Guild sorceress skilled in Cross Sync, who can't actually deal with attention. Phlegethon Life all but destroyed the sweet girl in her, leaving traces of insanity that sometimes bleed through. Her Cross Sync takes two allies' magics and combines them into her own spell. The first to blush for no real reason.
Kumbha Yatta – Gung-ho lover of competition, caster of Gel Magic, and a seasoned soldier. Before the guild, his work as a mercenary nearly killed him, and it left a scar on his courage. Still, he makes the best banner-bearer the guild's ever seen, and fights with great strength. The one with the most prominent chin.
Mercury Marowit – highly-aggressive fighter, unwitting user of Second Wind, and on a mission of vengeance against the elusive dark guild Phlegethon, whose plagues felled all of his family but for him and his brother Vergil. Second Wind automatically activates to restore his energy when he falls into peril. The one with the highest heartrate.
C-rank Wizards / Privates
Leixa Wuiwomi – fetching archeress and supposed wielder of Bow Magic, who hides the fact that she has no magic by constantly showing off her skill. Her secret plan is to prove that normal people, those without magic, can be heroes too. The angriest when surprised.
Virgil Marowit – stylish wanderer, moulder of Wind Make, and fascinated by beautiful things. Brother of Mercury. He brushes aside commitment, unimpressed by anything that might tie him down. As a former client of Frenzy Plant in Crocus, he was impressed enough to enlist. The first one to visit an art show.
Heisty Beardo – doesn't speak the language, caster of Smithing Magic, and obsessed with growing stealthier. When not sneaking around, he mans the guild's armory. He was found in a coma in Port Hargeon, and after being healed by Edith Briggs, silently joined her guild. The most likely to be found hiding in odd places.
Andrea van der Putten – towheaded summoner, caster of Rock Menagerie, and a true disciple of sloth. Issues with socialization mean she's more likely to interact with her rock monsters than other people. Really, she wanted to become an architect, but her family's idleness quashed that future. The most likely to sleep in.
Jillian Suede – portly sorceress, moulder of Metal Make, out to become the strongest mage ever. Her specific skills lie in her ability to create elaborate metal siege weapons for Frenzy Plant. Either she's extraordinarily confident in her weight, or incredibly delusional about it. The guild's biggest flirt.
Edith Riggs – perky musician, wielder of the Invigorate Lyre, and rich girl trying to uphold the family name. Her perfectionism makes her seem snooty, when really she's hardest on herself. Thinking that people will hate her for being well-off, she tries to hide her family name. The one with the best singing voice.
Nandy Rewman – nephew of Bytan Brass and wielder of Book Magic, he loves puns. Though still young, he's been with the guild a while, and is remarkably savvy about its workings and members. Indigo mentors him in his Book Magic, and he hopes to be as good as she someday. The most adorably awkward around girls.
Chester Graham – former Rune Knight, caster of Beast Tamer, and a valuable scout on his Roleto Beast, Salvador. He fled from the Rune Knights in panic after he found out the corruption of his squad. When not scouting or soaring the skies, he takes charge of the guild stables. The happiest when flying.
Harper Saxum – ninja in training, caster of Shinobi, and fleet of foot. Despite her dedication to the ninja arts, a bright, loud persona keep others from taking her seriously. Plus, she's got a serious crush on Mercury. An Oak Town native, she's explored every nook, roof, and hidden alley. The least likely to fail an acrobatic maneuver.
Cecilia Lenin – a young knight just starting down the path of magic, who is learning to use Requip. The stories about dragons fascinate her, and she hopes most to become one's protege someday. Desperate to impress people, she spends a lot of time working out. The likeliest to second-guess herself.
